"Plans for our museum space aboard ship are still in the developmental stage. A new and much larger compartment (3rd Division quarters) has been suggested by the Naval Park. I inspected it in mid-January and met with the construction company that will bid the job. It now seems that we will have little to report to you until the July reunion business meeting. Being our objective is to build a first class museum display space, our progress will be deliberate but fully concerned with quality and workmanship, Necessarily, that involves many unanticipated details which must be worked out over time. Still, an opening date of July '07 remains a strong possibility."  Jerry Dupuis, Association President

OUR NEW CREW MEMBERS' MUSEUM SOON TO BE CONSTRUCTED ON BOARD THE SHIP WILL NEED YOUR MEMORABILIA, SOUVENIRS & ARTIFACTS.

WE DO NOT NEED UNIFORMS, BUT WE CAN USE ALMOST ANYTHING ELSE FROM YOUR DAYS ON BOARD. YOU CAN EITHER DONATE THEM TO THE NAVAL PARK OR YOU CAN LOAN THEM.

PLEASE CONSIDER THIS IN TIME FOR THE MUSEUM’S GRAND OPENING IN JULY 2007.
