As the 2008 U.S.S. Little Rock tour season approaches, the ship will again be in need of help in getting cleaned up, painted up and polished up. Again this year the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park staff needs YOUR help in getting the Little Rock shipshape. This is your chance to get back to wielding a chipping hammer, paintbrush or Brasso. The dates for the 2008 Workparty are: Thursday May 15th through Sunday May 18th. An important note: It is not necessary for you to volunteer for the entire time. If you can only come for a couple of days, that will be just fine. Come when you can. Leave when you must. Some other useful information: 1. There are accommodations
for berthing on board, with real mattresses!.
2. You will need to provide your own sleeping bag, pillow, towel and personal items. 3. You may arrive Wednesday afternoon (14 May) if you would like. 4. Some meals are on our own, but many meals are on board. (See previous year photos.) 5. Register
by May 10th by contacting either:
Art Tilley:
artillery@innernet.netor Jerry Dupuis: dupuisatcamp@frontiernet.net Here's a great opportunity to make a meaningful
contribution to your ship without spending a bundle, or eating up your
vacation time.
We'll be looking forward to having you join us in Buffalo! |
