CDR TODD D. PETERS
UNITED STATES NAVY
Commander Todd Peters enlisted in the U.S. Navy in October 1990, graduating from Recruit Training Command Great Lakes Illinois as a member of Hall of Fame Company 91-905. Petty Officer Peters served in USS SCRANTON (SSN 756) from April 1992 until October 1997, where he earned his Silver Dolphins before transferring ashore to Trident Training Facility, Kings Bay, Georgia where he served as Leading Instructor for Electronic Warfare Team Training, AN/BPS-16 Radar Combined Maintenance and AN/UPX-28 IFF Combined, Intermediate and Depot Maintenance. During this tour in Kings Bay he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science, History and Sociology (Summa cum Laude) from Troy State University and completed qualification as a Master Training Specialist.
Ensign Peters graduated from Officer Candidate School in April 2000 before reporting to USS UNDERWOOD (FFG 36) where he served as Electrical Officer, CIC Officer and Training Officer while earning his Surface Warfare Officer Qualification. Lieutenant Junior Grade Peters then reported to USS RAMAGE (DDG 61) as Ships Navigator and served as Department Head for the Navigation, Executive and Training Department. Lieutenant Peters attended Naval Postgraduate School where he earned his Master's of Arts degree in National Security Affairs with a specialty in Middle East History and Politics, graduating with distinction and completing Joint Professional Military Education Phase I with distinction.
Lieutenant Peters reported to Department Head School, graduating with distinction as a member of Class #188 before reporting to USS SAMUEL B. ROBERTS (FFG 58) where he served as Operations Officer and Senior Watch Officer, completing qualifications as Engineering Officer of the Watch and Tactical Action Officer. Lieutenant Commander Peters' most recent sea assignment was Operations Officer and Senior Watch Officer in USS VICKSBURG (CG 69). During his afloat tours, Commander Peters completed four extended deployments to the Arabian Gulf, one deployment to South America and two deployments to the Arctic Circle as well as numerous multi-national exercises and fleet operations.
In September 2010 Lieutenant Commander Peters became a Full Time Support Officer and took Command of Navy Operational Support Center Augusta, Georgia where he led 285 Sailors in support of 8 gaining Commands including NMCB-14, Naval Hospital Jacksonville, FL and Naval Hospital Beaufort, SC. Throughout this tour NOSC Augusta maintained the highest mobilization and readiness rates in the Naval Reserve and successfully mobilized more than 30 Sailors.
In July 2013, Lieutenant Commander Peters reported to the Staff of United States Naval Forces Southern Command/United States FOURTH Fleet as Operational Support Officer and Deputy N1 before assuming duties as Director of Current Operations.
Commander Peters reported to LCS Crew 109 as Executive Officer in October 2015 and served as the Commissioning Commanding Officer USS LITTLE ROCK BLUE from 16 Dec 2017 to 29 Nov 2018.
Commander Peters' personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy Achievement Medal (five awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal and various unit and campaign awards, including six Battle Efficiency Awards.
